The appointment itself is short, typically 30 to 45 minutes depending on the area being treated. A cool gel is applied to the skin, and the handpiece delivers pulses of light that most people describe as a quick snap or a warm flick. Not painless, but very manageable.

Afterward, your skin may look flushed, similar to a mild sunburn. That usually settles within a day. Pigmented spots often darken in the first few days before they shed. Wear sunscreen, skip the retinol for a few days, and give your skin time to do its work.

Results build gradually. The most visible changes from pigmentation treatment tend to show up two to three weeks after your session. Vascular improvements can appear sooner.
