It was developed specifically for cosmetic use, not adapted from a therapeutic product. That focused design is part of why some patients and injectors find it performs well for facial lines. Like Botox, results are temporary, and repeat treatments maintain the effect over time.

   How they work

   Both Jeuveau and Botox use botulinum toxin type A to temporarily relax targeted facial muscles. The mechanism is the same. The difference is in the manufacturing process and the protein structure surrounding the active molecule, which may affect how quickly each one takes effect and how the body responds over repeated treatments.

   Onset and duration

   Most patients see results from Jeuveau within 2 to 5 days, which is similar to Botox. Duration is generally 3 to 4 months for both, though individual results vary based on metabolism, muscle activity, and treatment area. Neither product is definitively longer-lasting than the other for most people.

   Which one is right for you?

   A positive tuberculosis blood test, for example, usually means a chest X-ray, not a denial. We explain what it means, arrange what is needed, and complete the form when it is done. You are never left guessing.

We know the timeline matters. Many patients are working against an interview date or a request for evidence, and we schedule and process exams with that in mind. The exam is a flat fee quoted before you book; blood tests and vaccines are itemized and added only if you need them, so there are no surprise costs.

Jeuveau is FDA-approved for moderate to severe glabellar lines, the vertical lines between the eyebrows that appear when you frown. These are sometimes called "11 lines" and are one of the most common areas patients want to address.

Beyond the glabella, Jeuveau is used off-label for the same areas where Botox is commonly placed: forehead lines, crow's feet at the outer corners of the eyes, and other dynamic expression lines. Dr. Gougian will discuss which areas make sense for your face during your consultation.

Jeuveau is a treatment for lines caused by muscle movement, not for static lines or volume loss. If your concern is better addressed by a filler or a different approach, Dr. Gougian will tell you that directly.
